Luke 2:8-14
8 There were shepherds out in the fields of that neighbourhood, keeping watch over their flock by night. 9 An angel of the Lord came and stood by them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were filled with fear. 10 But the angel said to them, ‘Do not be afraid; look, I bring you good news of great joy for all the people: 11 for today in the city of David, a Saviour has been born for you, and He is the Messiah, the Lord. 12 This will be a sign for you: you will find a child wrapped in cloth bands and lying in a manger.’ 13 Suddenly there was a great company of the heavenly host together with the angel, praising God and saying, 14 ‘Glory to God in the highest heaven, and on earth, peace amongst those he loves!’
