Personal comments by author:

You will observe from my comments that I find the idea of prophecy as an answer to prayer to be quite exciting!  It is my prayer that the Lord will open our eyes to this and other truths about prophecy which will lift it out of its somewhat elite place in the eyes of many, to become the vehicle of God’s communication with us, it is meant to be. The Lord loves to tell us what He is thinking so that we can act in accord with His will, and though some have a special gift of prophecy today, this and other gifts have been spread around all God’s people to be used according to His will

Ideas to explore discipleship

May we find our peace in You, Lord Jesus; carpenter of Nazareth, teacher of Israel, servant of all and healer of the sick.  Bless our work, teach us the truth, lead us where we should go and help us in our need, we pray; Lord Jesus, Son of God, Saviour of the World: AMEN

Use these for group work, or to assist your personal reflection.

  1. How would you feel if you received a prophecy from someone in answer to one of your prayers?
  2. In what ways do empires need to control the earth’s resources in order to exist, today?
  3. In what ways does this prophecy give hope to King Hezekiah?
